RisCura says YES to a virtual onboarding process

The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic is pushing employers to reinvent their style of recruitment and investment firm RisCura has accepted this challenge. The firm successfully recruited a second intake of eight Youth Employment Service (YES) programme candidates during the lockdown period.

The YES programme is a one-year government initiative geared towards increasing the employability of the youth in South Africa by helping them gain work experience. YES candidates are selected from across South Africa. During the lockdown period this presented an array of challenges; internet connectivity and setting up remote workstations becomes trying in remote areas. However, RisCura has adapted its onboarding process with the use of technology to offer a successful virtual recruitment and onboarding experience during the lockdown period.

“To keep up with the ever-changing job market we must evolve; to continue hiring during these uncertain times. It is essential to invest in a remote recruitment and onboarding process; this has aided in RisCura’s employment of 10 new people (including the YES candidates) during the lockdown,” says Zenani Fiyani, HR Associate at RisCura.

RisCura aims to assist in transforming the industry through the development of the YES programme candidates, therefore they will take a mentored approach to ensure that the virtual training does not interfere with producing well-equipped candidates.
