Global investment firm, RisCura, has won the 2021 Africa Global Funds Africa Service Providers Awards, in the category Research and Data provider: private equity. The awards seek to recognise the accomplishments of fund service providers covering Africa. Currently in its sixth edition, it is the only international awards dedicated to recognising service excellence in Africa.

RisCura’s alternative investment services team was awarded for providing market-leading, one-of-a-kind research and data analytics to an industry that previously did not have anything to compare performance to.

“What an honour to be recognised for our research into private equity on the continent,” says Cami Mbulawa, a director of RisCura’s business that focuses on alternative investment services. “We started the research to provide private equity stakeholders with insight into industry returns and to establish and maintain an authoritative benchmark for measuring private equity performance. The award is a testament to the work our team does, the impact our research has on the industry and how beneficial this is to the industry, particularly investors, for fundraising and benchmarking performance. There isn’t anything else like it right now.”

The alternative investment team provides services such as independent valuations, valuation support services, risk and reporting, private equity portfolio construction, fund documentation review and investment monitoring services to African emerging markets. This award-winning team is also responsible for RisCura’s annual Bright Africa research that seeks to inform investors on key issues relating to investing in Africa.
